UPDATE: This bill is on the docket in the hearing that’s scheduled for Tuesday, March 23, 2021 (10:00 AM EDT) in Senate Judiciary. The title of the hearing is “Hearings to examine constitutional and common sense steps to reduce gun violence.”

To require a background check for every firearm sale. It would criminalize the private transfer of firearms.

H.R. 1446: Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2021

To amend chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, to strengthen the background check procedures to be followed before a Federal firearms licensee may transfer a firearm to a person who is not such a licensee.
