3/ Oregonians voted against their rights—2A rights
Oregonians passed a measure that recognizes health care as a human right. “It is the obligation of the state to ensure that every resident of Oregon has access to cost-effective, clinically appropriate and affordable health care as a fundamental right,” the amendment reads. This will show up in courts. Oregonians also voted for measure 114. Right now, in Oregon, you need to be 18 to submit to a federal background check. The new measure will require anyone wanting to purchase a gun in Oregon to first obtain a permit by completing a gun safety class and submitting to a federal criminal background check. There is also a ban on magazines containing more than 10 rounds of ammunition. Firearms Policy Coalition is ready to fight it in court. (NPR, OPB News, KGW8)
